Elsa López Pintor, a professor at the Miguel Hernández University of Elche (UMH) and a member of the Salud Global Research Group, has been invested as a Numerary Academic of the Academy of Pharmacy of the Valencian Community.
The ceremony took place at the Official College of Pharmacists of Valencia (MICOF), presided over by Gerardo Stübing, president of the Academy, and Facundo Pérez, its secretary. The event was attended by Domingo Orozco, Vice-Rector for Social Planning of the UMH, as well as institutional representatives from the pharmaceutical field, including Juventino Jiménez, vice-president of MICOF; Andrés García, president of the Official College of Pharmacists of Alicante (COFA); and Ricardo Folgado, member of MICOF.
Following her appointment, López Pintor gave the presentation Appearances can be deceiving: impact of treatment change on adherence and patient experience with their medication. In it, she addressed the clinical and emotional implications of medication changes, especially in chronic and polymedicated patients.
Our colleague, who will occupy seat number 27, thus becomes the second Numerary Academic from the province of Alicante, and whose appointment, in the words of Gerardo Stübing, materializes the path towards a more balanced representation.
